Gyula Sausages and Cold Cuts Exhibition – Apr 01 – 03, 2011

The Gyula Butchers’ Union organizes the annual “Gyula Sausages and Cold Cuts Exhibition”. During this festival, the park of the Gyula Castle turns into an island of gourmet sausages and ham for three days. Butchers from several Hungarian regions and from the neighbouring countries introduce their delicious products, while the local butchers also pay tribute to their ancestors.

Körösvölgyi Sokadalom Folk Festival – July 01 – 03, 2011

This regional folk festival is a celebration of folk traditions. Participants gather from the neighbouring counties and from abroad as well. The guests and the performers present Slovakian, Romanian, Serbian, German and Hungarian folk traditions. The visitors shall enjoy exhibitions of craftsmanship, fair, folk-dance and many other activities.
Castle Theatre – 48. Summer Season – July 01 – Aug 14, 2011

Between July 1 and August 14 takes place the 48th Summer Season of the Gyula Castle Theatre. Following the footsteps of the prior seasons the organizers invited the best performances. The repertoire includes comedies, tragedies, concerts and dancing performances. Beside the theatre events movies and exhibitions can also be seen.

PROHUN500 – FIA Central-European Rallye Zone Trophy – July 21 – 24, 2011

The PROHUN 500 celebrates its fifth season this year as a phase of the Hungarian Championship. The curiosity of the event is that the service park is located in the inner city, on the main road crossing the centre. On the four lanes service trucks, service cars and race cars will park, giving an extraordinary venue for everybody.

Castle Eves – July 29 – July 31, 2011

The historical past returns and meets the present at the Gyula Castle. The festival, which became a tradition through the years, takes place on the last weekend of July every year and so far evolved to become one of the most recognized open air events in Hungary. The number of visitors increased from 10-15 thousand up to 50 thousand through the three days. Folk artists and craftsmen are introducing their history in the perfect, authentic ambience.
